It's A Party and You Are Invited!

"Harvest Happening", this year's annual fundraiser for the Pacific NorthWest Art School, is set for Saturday, September 29th, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. at the Coupeville Rec Hall. Come dance the night away to live music, wearing a harvest inspired mask and costume, or not, enjoy appetizers and wines, have your caricature drawn and fund our programs.

This night is all about supporting the important work we do to offer exceptional visual arts education, free community lectures and presentations, Youth Art, scholarships, Art Excursions and more. We count on the community's support to make this all happen.

New this year will be the unveiling of a kinectic sculpture that will serve as visible appreciation of our patrons and founders support. Each patron that supports our "Fund the Programs" portion of our annual event (and during our annual fund campaign) at the $250 level or more will get a piece of the sculpture and will be able to watch the sculpture "grow" as our support grows.

Tickets are just $50 and are on sale now. Come by the school, Monday-Friday, 9-4 pm. at 15 NW Birch Street, Coupeville, to purchase or call us at 360 678 3396 and purchase over the phone. . We will hold them at "will call" for you. You can also visit our website, www.pacificnorthwestartschool.org and purchase online.

Even if you don't live here locally but take workshops, or want to support what we do, you can still participate in our fund the programs and have visible proof of your support! Just call and say "I want to support your "Fund the Programs"., or visit our website where you can do so online, www.pacificnorthwestartschool.org

Thank you for your support and for those of you who can attend our event, we look forward to sharing a great evening with you.

Our Instructors Write Their Descriptions

Recently, while reading class evaluations, we came across in the question to students "how could the art school improve"  the comment "vet the instructor description".  This caused us to ponder this and respond.

All our instructors write their own descriptions...we either publish them as is (other than correcting obvious grammar and spelling errors) or shorten them due to space constraints.  Perhaps having the instructor's "signature" added at the end of the description would lend more credibility and weight.  So while we ponder how to best do this...keep sending us those suggestions.  We believe the author of this suggestion wants potential students to know that the instructor approves of and endorses the description we are putting out there.

Here is a little eye candy to enjoy from the one and only Sam Abell...
